Transportation

The MBSCC Transportation Services Program is a vital component of our Elderly Services, dedicated to preventing social isolation and physical decline among seniors who are unable to travel or access public transportation. By providing safe and reliable transportation, we help seniors stay connected to their communities and maintain their independence.

The program serves community districts 1 through 8 and offers two primary types of trips:

  • Medical Trips: Designed for non-Medicaid clients, these trips provide transportation to and from medical appointments or facilities. While typically single-service, multiple clients may be transported within an area if the origins and destinations are reasonably close.
  • Social Trips: Open to all eligible clients regardless of Medicaid status, social trips may be single-service or group-based. They can be reserved by individuals, organizations, or trip coordinators and are limited to a 60-mile radius.

This essential program ensures that seniors have access to the medical care and social engagement they need to live healthier, more connected lives within their communities.
