Elderly Services
Since the 1970s, MBSCC has been a leading provider of senior services in the Bronx, creating coalitions and collaborations to address gaps in care and develop innovative programs. Through the Mid-Bronx Interagency Coordinating Council, MBSCC established seven senior centers along the Concourse Corridor, many specifically designed to support low-income seniors.
For over 40 years, MBSCC has been committed to enhancing the lives of older New Yorkers by offering a comprehensive range of services, including:
- Senior Social Services: Providing support and resources tailored to meet the unique needs of older adults.
- Meals-on-Wheels: Delivering nutritious meals directly to homebound seniors.
- Comfort Care: Offering compassionate in-home support, including personal care, light housekeeping, and home health assistance.
- Transportation Services: Ensuring seniors have access to medical appointments, social activities, and essential errands.
- Congregate Meals: Promoting social interaction and community engagement through group meal programs at senior centers.
Today, MBSCC proudly serves over 1,400 seniors, both Medicaid-eligible and self-paying, including those who are frail and those who are stable. Our mission is to ensure that all older adults in the Bronx have access to the resources they need to live with dignity, independence, and a strong sense of community.
