BID

In partnership with the 161st Street Merchants Association, MBSCC spearheaded a decade-long effort to establish the 161st Street Business Improvement District (BID). This persistent advocacy culminated in May 2010 with the announcement of the 161st Street BID as New York City’s 51st BID and only the 6th in the Bronx.

The BID aims to enhance the vitality and appeal of the area through planned improvements, including:

• Upgraded lighting to improve visibility and safety.
• Enhanced sanitation and maintenance for cleaner streets.
• Increased security measures for businesses and visitors.
• Facade and storefront revitalization to create a more inviting atmosphere.
• Development of green spaces and beautified streetscapes.
• Improved parking solutions to support local businesses.

The 161st Street BID represents MBSCC’s commitment to fostering economic growth and creating a vibrant, thriving community for residents, merchants, and visitors alike.
