Head Start Program
At MBSCC, we recognize that access to quality childcare is crucial for families to remain active in the workforce and engaged in their communities. Since 1995, our Head Start Program has provided a comprehensive approach to early childhood education and family support, focusing on four key areas: education, health, parent involvement, and social services.
Our program is designed to enhance the social, emotional, cognitive, and fine motor skills of the children we serve, ensuring they are ready to succeed in school and beyond. By collaborating with parents from diverse backgrounds, we create a supportive environment that fosters growth and development for the entire family. Currently, the Head Start program serves 383 children across three centers.
In addition to childcare, we offer resources and services for parents and adults, including:
- Vocational Counseling: Empowering parents to achieve their career goals.
- Adult Education: Providing opportunities for personal and professional development.
- Nutrition and Health Services: Supporting the overall wellness of families.
- Literacy Development: Helping parents enhance their skills to better support their children’s learning.
Our Head Start program operates year-round in a safe, nurturing environment and is completely free of charge to families. Every 4-year-old in the program also benefits from the Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) curriculum, which equips them with the skills and confidence needed to transition successfully into Kindergarten.
At MBSCC, our Head Start Program is more than childcare—it’s a foundation for lifelong success for children and a pathway to empowerment for families.
