Early Learning Center

The Early Learning Center (ELC), established in 2000, is MBSCC’s licensed daycare program dedicated to providing high-quality preschool services for children aged 3 to 5. Licensed by the Department of Health, the ELC serves a diverse population and is staffed by a team of qualified, multicultural, and multilingual professionals. Our educators design age-appropriate activities to nurture children’s intellectual, social, and emotional growth.

Our program is enriched with a variety of activities, including music, creative arts, dance, educational trips, and computer training, creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment.

The ELC offers two program options in coordination with Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK):

• UPK-Only Program: For 4-year-olds, running from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, focused on delivering a robust educational foundation.
• UPK/ELC Program: For 3- and 4-year-olds, running from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This program includes the UPK curriculum from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, followed by additional enrichment activities until 6:00 PM.

Together, these programs serve 219 children across two locations in the South Bronx. Additionally, 40 home-based providers, supported by ongoing training and supervision from our staff, extend services to an additional 200 children.
